May I warn people about the danger of bicycles on pavements?

In Minehead on Saturday morning, I was about to walk round the corner into Hollway Street next to the Fudge Shop when a young man tarvelling at speed on the pavement missed hitting me by centimetres.

Had we collided at that speed we could both have been badly injured – broken bones or worse if we had been thrown in the air and landed on our heads.

The boy was completely oblivious to our near miss, having screeched to a halt by the bench and tree on the corner and started chatting and laughing with a group of young lads.

I was too shocked to say anything. What if it had been a baby in a pram or toddler about to turn the corner?

Take care everyone!
