SIR — The 'shared space' idea for making Minehead a more appealing and attractive town to cars, cyclists and pedestrians (Free Press December 20) should be encouraged.
The town will have to change if it's to have a place in the everyday lives of the the people that shop and work there and also attract those that currently choose to go elsewhere.
I'd encourage those that might not foresee the benefits of this development to look again, especially to the Continent where shared space is now becoming the norm.
Perhaps Minehead could be ahead of the game and look forward to being a vibrant and inclusive place to live, shop and work.
