THE owner of a holiday home on an Exmoor hill farm near Simonsbath has picked up an award for the best rental property in the South West.
Edward Greenall won the award in a national travel awards programme run by UK holiday rental firm Sykes Holiday Cottages.
The A&E doctor decided to get into holiday letting with his father, Gilbert, after the pair saw the potential in a ruined, remote shepherd’s hut on their family farm.
The property, Limecombe, was transformed with the help of a local family building company TH Lock & Sons, including installing a solar and generator system as the farm is too remote for mains electricity.
