POLICE are appealing for witnesses after £10,000 cash was stolen in a burglary of an elderly West Somerset woman’s home.
The burglary happened between 6.40 pm and 7 pm on Friday (November 21) in Glenmore Road, Minehead.
Two men entered a house in the street and stole the cash before the 77-year-old woman disturbed them and they fled.
The men were both wearing dark clothing, and one was described as about 6 ft tall and was wearing a face covering with yellow on it.
Police have also asked to hear from anybody in the area who may have CCTV or doorbell footage from Friday evening which could help their investigation.

An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesperson said: “We would ask that residents on Glenmore Road and the surrounding streets check any CCTV cameras or camera doorbell that they might have.
“If you have any relevant footage or information, please contact us on 101 quoting reference 5225327512.”
The spokesperson said burglaries were known to increase during the winter months, with the darker afternoons and evenings.
They said: “Most burglaries are committed by opportunist thieves.
“In around one in four burglaries committed, they do not have to use force, they often break in through an open door or window.
“Take simple precautions, such as locking windows and doors when you go out, even if just stepping next door or out in the garden.
“Also, use a light timer and do not leave your keys lying around.
“Look at your property through a burglar’s eyes to identify places where you can add deterrents and improve security.”
The spokesperson said burglars did not always target building, they also went for gardens, outbuildings, sheds, and garages, while building sites were also commonly targeted.
They said more information could be found on the force’s website.
