MINEHEAD resident Annie Isherwood has become something of a local celebrity - at the age of 100.

Annie, who will be 101 in September, lives in Wyndham House residential home and her life history has been included in a new book, Somerset Centenarians.

Born in Bury, she ran post officers with her husband until their retirement and his lived in the South West since 1953.

Her story is one of 20 tales gathered from centenarians who are being looked after by the Somerset Care Group.

The book was launched at the Royal Bath and West Show earlier this month and Annie is pictured being presented with her own personal copy by Minehead Wyndham House manager Madeleine Flanagan said: "Annie has had a long and interesting life and it is a privilege to care for her."
