A “SUPERB response” from the public has led to the identification of a man police want to speak to in connection with two alleged cases of indecent exposure on the Old Mineral Line.

But this week officers were still looking for him.

The reported incidents of a man exposing himself to women on the Mineral Line between Washford and Watchet took place at about 11.10am on Friday, August 31, and around 10.30am on Sunday, September 9.

Police appealed for help after releasing a photograph of a man they wished to interview and have received numerous calls from the public.

PC Adrian Endacott, of Avon and Somerset police, said: “We would like to thank the public for their superb response to this appeal.

“We now believe we know who the man in the photograph is but have not yet been able to contact him. I urge him to come forward and would also ask anyone who knows where he is to tell us.”

Police ask for anyone with information which might help the investigation to get in touch through www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact or call 101 giving reference number 5218195291.
