TWO policemen who disarmed a man carrying a large knife in Minehead last Tuesday have posted a picture of the weapon on Facebook to raise awareness of local knife crime.

“Thankfully, he was disarmed and it was resolved relatively peacefully. Knife crime is a big issue at the moment.”
PC Donati urged anyone with information about a person who habitually carries a knife to get in touch with him or report it on Crimestoppers on 0800555111.
“Prevention is always better than cure and the more weapons like this we have off the streets, the better.”
