POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a burglary at a business premises in Mart Road, Minehead, between 5pm on Tuesday, December 11, and 8am on Wednesday when thieves smashed a window and stole a till.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said that hours later officers in Bristol stopped a vehicle and arrested three men on suspicion of the burglary.

They were later released under investigation while enquiries continued.

Investigating officer PC Charles Fitzpatrick asked anyone with information about the burglary to call the police on 101, quoting reference 5218274441. Alteratively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

He said anyone who sees someone behaving suspiciously around a neighbour’s property should call the police straight away on 999 if it is obvious that a crime is about to be committed.
