WIVELISCOMBE fire crew was called to two chimney blazes over the weekend.
Shortly before 5pm yesterday (Sunday), the crew went to an incident in Burges Lane, Wiveliscombe, where a chimney fire involved an open hearth.
The firefighters used a thermal image camera and ’safety at height’ equipment to remove part of a chimney pot that was in a dangerous position.
On Friday afternoon, firefighters went to Wiveliscombe Road, Preston Bowyer, near Milverton, where they got to work rodding the chimney from the hearth and extinguished the fire.
