WIVELISCOMBE managed to secure a losing bonus point in a 26-19 defeat away to bottom team Falmouth in Western Counties West which should be enough to secure their their status in the division next season, writes Roger Bellamy.

Wiveliscombe's team again showed changes from the previous week's fifteen and trailed 5pts 21pts at half time after scoring the first try of the match through scrum half Richard Baker. Falmouth took the lead through a try by centre Finn Deavon, converted by full back Tom Townsend.

Firth crossed for their second try, with Townsend slotting his second conversion.

Falmouth strengthened their position early in the second half, scoring their third try through flanker Alex Bullock, converted by Townsend.

Wiveliscombe were able to stay in touch because their set pieces were good and scored a second try through Baker after a mazey run. Winger Dan Rottenbury converted.

Winger Zane Goodwin crossed for the home team's fourth bonus point try.

Wiveliscombe continued to create the odd chance and were rewarded with a try from Dan Rottenbury which he converted. Wivey gained one loosing bonus point being within seven points of Falmouth.
