WATCHET Town will be looking to bow out of 2022 in style when they play away to Stockwood Green in the Premier Division of the Uhlsport Somerset County League tomorrow (Sat).

Haaving won their last two games, Watchet would be expected to beat Stockwell who are bottom of the table and have won only one of their 13 league games.

Watchet were without a fixture last weekend, which was not to the liking of manager Avril Cooke who said: “You don’t want a break from football when you’re winning games.

“You don’t want to lose momentum.”

Watchet beat Clutton 2-1 at home last time out - a victory which moved them out of trouble in the Premier Division.

After tomorrow’s game, Watchet will not be back in action until the New Year when they play away to Chilcompton Sports who are lying second in the table.

Wells City Reserves are the current leaders.

Minehead, who were also left without a game last weekend when their match at Somerton was postponed because of the bad weather, will not be playing until the end of the month when they visit Burnham United on New Year’s Eve.

At the moment Minehead are seventh and Burnham eighth, with four points separating the sides.

This year will not go down as one of the best for Watchet and Minehead, who started the season with new personnel in charge. Both will be out to consolidate in the New Year.

In the Premier Division of the Britannia Lanes Taunton Saturday League, Minehead Reserves are away to North Curry tomorrow while Porlock are home to Westonzoyland.

Meanwhile Porlock Ladies, who hit 18 goals in their last match against Paulton in Division Two North of the Somerset Women’s League, are away to Hutton on Sunday.

Minehead, second in Division Two of the Under 15 section of the Taunton Youth League, are away to North Petherton who are sixth.

There is a full programme of matches in the Taunton Saturday, Somerset Sunday and Taunton Youth Leagues.
