WATCHET Town are among seven teams vying for top spot in the Premier Division of the Uhlsport Somerset County Football League this afternoon (Sat).

Only two points separate these sides going into the latest round of matches.

Watchet are lying seventh in the table, but would go above leaders Burnham United if they won their game in hand.

Watchet are home again today when they play Nailsea & Tickenham who are 12th but have won only two of their eight games (2p.m.).

"There is confidence in the side," said the Watchet club's spokesman Nick Sully. "We're looking for continuity and to field an unchanged side.

"As far as I know everyone is available. It's nice to have someone scoring goals and at the moment Billy Jones is having a hot spell.

"Certainly our form has improved and it was good to keep a clean sheet against Westfield (3-0) at home last weekend."

Minehead are on their travels again today - also in the first division - when they play Yatton & Cleeve United who are ninth in the league, with both teams on 11 points.

Meanwhile Porlock, third in the Premier Division of the Taunton Saturday League, play away to Wyvern United who are mid-table.

Minehead Reserves are home to Taunton Saturday League champions Redgate in the Somerset Junior Cup. Redgate beat Minehead 7-0 at home in the league only last week.
