WATCHET II kept the pressure on Temple Cloud at the top of Division Eight North with an eight-wicket win away to Wembdon Academy on Saturday.
After electing to bowl, Watchet’s attack kept the Wembdon scoring rate low, and after Nigel Merrick removed both openers wickets fell steadily.
Arron Nunn and Sam Broadey both got in on the act and Wembdon were all out for 91.
Watchet’s reply got off to a bad start as Ed Jeromson was out for one and Josh Townsend for nine, leaving them on 11-2.
But Jamie Milton then joined Sam Broadey at the crease and started to punish the bowlers.
With one to win and Milton requiring three for his 50, he smashed the ball over the mid wicket boundary to secure the win and his first half-century of the year.
