MINEHEAD Under 8s enjoyed a fantastic outing at Chard over the weekend, providing a display full of energy, teamwork and smiles all round. Captain Molly led the team brilliantly, keeping spirits high and making sure everyone felt part of the action. Archie was on top form again, his play was sharp, confident, and a joy to watch.

Jonny showed great speed along the line, keeping Chard on their toes with his quick bursts, while Jack kept a close eye on the line, showing real awareness and helping to steady the team’s defence. Harry worked so hard throughout, chasing every play and grabbing a few well-earned tags and Ted helped the team off to a strong start, making some confident runs. This was a match full of effort and enthusiasm, with every player contributing to a great team performance. Minehead showed real determination and plenty of smiles - well done to everyone.

Meanwhile, the Barbarians Under11s also travelled to Chard for their third match in a row where, unfortunately, the hosts only had six players so it was agreed to lend them some players to make even sides.

To show the group of player spirit and support it was decided to rotate players so everyone had a chance to play for both sides. Minehead started strongly playing their usual style with some strong rucking, tackling and supporting which led to some great tries. One try in particular started from a well formed ruck some quick ball and passing through several pairs of hands, scoring an all round team try. Chard never gave up and some strong running produced three well deserved tries , but Minehead Under 11s continued to put pressure and came away winners 16 tries to 3 following a performance to be proud of.
