MINEHEAD Barbarians will be looking to pull off the season’s double over Imperial when the sides play in Counties Two Somerset at Ellicombe on Saturday, April 11.

The Babas turned on the style to beat their rivals 72-12 away in one of their most ruthless displays of the season in late January.

Without a game since losing 39-20 away to Hornets 2nd XV a fortnight ago, Minehead are currently lying third in the table, some way behind leaders Burnham on Sea and Clevedon.

However, Minehead have to play both these teams and still have an outside chance of finishing runners-up - but they will almost certainly have to win both games.

Minehead are set to play away to Clevedon on Saturday, April 18, and at home to Burnham on Sea the following weekend. They end their season with a home match against Keynsham on Saturday, May 9, which is the very last game in the division.

Fixtures for Saturday, April 11: Chew Valley v Clevedon, Hornets v Oldfield Old Boys, Keynsham v Burnham on Sea, Minehead Barbarians v Imperial, St Bernadettes Old Boys v Avon.

Minehead Barbarians 2nd XV, lying fourth in Counties Four Somerset South, also have four more matches to play before the end of their season.

They play away on Saturday, April 11, to neighbours Bridgwater & Albion 2nd XV, who are three off the bottom, having won only three of their 14 matches.

The Babas’ second string are 20 points behind leaders Burnham on Sea who are four points clear of second-placed Somerton who have both played two more matches than Minehead. Morganians are third with 12 more points than Minehead but having played one more fixture.

Fixtures, April 11: Somerton v Yeovil, Wincanton v Wells, Bridgwater & Albion v Minehead Barbarians, Weston super Mare v Morganians.
