MINEHEAD Barbarians will finish third in Counties Two Somerset despite their 33-17 home defeat by new champions Burnham on Sea in their latest rugby match.
Burnham needed only a point to clinch the championship - but ended with a haul of five in their decisive victory over the Babas.
The new champions have finished four points clear of runners-up Clevedon who gained a 41-29 away victory over Hornets Seconds in their last game.
Minehead, however, still have one more fixture to play - away to Keynsham Seconds on Saturday, May 9 - and are 19 points adrift of Clevedon.
The Babas will be chasing the season’s double over Keynsham, having beaten their rivals 50-0 at home when the sides played each other in West Somerset in early November.
The only other match yet to be played in the division takes place on Saturday, May 2, between Keynsham Seconds and Avon, who cannot finish any higher than seventh. Keynsham, with two more games still remaining, need four points to avoid the possibility of being relegated.
Castle Cary will finish bottom of the division after they went down to a 29-19 loss away to Keynsham in their last game - their 15th loss of the season.
Chew Valley produced one of their best displays of the season to beat Avon 38-17 at home last time out - but it may not be enough to avoid a bottom two finish.
Oldfield Old Boys were in good form when beating Imperial by 38-24 at home.
Results on Saturday, April 25: Chew Valley 38, Avon 17; Hornets 29, Clevedon 41; Keynsham 29, Castle Cary 19; Minehead Barbarians 17, Burnham on Sea 33; Oldfield Old Boys 38, Imperial 24.
