MINEHEAD Barbarians return to action in Counties Two Somerset on Saturday looking to continue their quest to catch the top two when they welcome Oldfield Old Boys on Saturday (2.30pm).
The coastal club cruised past Chew Valley Seconds 55-12 in their last outing on March 14, and currently sit third in the table, nine points behind second-placed Clevedon who are on their travels to St Bernadettes Old Boys.
After hosting Oldfield this weekend, Minehead head to Weston-super-Mare next Saturday to tackle mid-table Hornets Seconds, before a busy April which gets underway on the 11th when they entertain Imperial.
They then have to wait a fortnight for their final day trip as Keynsham Seconds are also at home the week before when they welcome Avon.
This weekend’s fixtures in the division are as follows: Chew Valley Seconds v Hornets Seconds; Keynsham Seconds v Imperial; Minehead Barbarians v Oldfield Old Boys; St Bernadettes Old Boys v Clevedon; Castle Cary v Avon.
Minehead’s seconds are also due to be home at this Saturday, also with a 2.30pm kick-off, as they welcome their Wells counterparts in Counties Four Somerset South.
The fourth-placed Barbarians are 10 points behind second-placed Morganians with both sides having six games remaining.
Minehead will go into the fixture full of confidence having ran out 84-10 winners at Wincanton on Saturday, which was one of just two fixtures to be played.
This Saturday’s other games see Somerton host Bridgwater & Albion Thirds, while Wincanton host Morganians.
