MINEHEAD are right back in the championship race in the Premier Division of the Somerset Cricket League after they beat Winscombe last weekend - while rivals Long Sutton and Temple Cloud suffered agony in the rain.Minehead collected 35 points for beating Winscombe while Long Sutton and Temple Cloud made every effort to play their fixtures - but failed miserably and gained only 28 points between them.It means Minehead are now only three points behind top dogs Long Sutton and are their nearest challengers for the title.With only four matches remaining for all sides, Minehead play away to eighth-placed Lympsham & Belvedere today (Sat) with every chance of stepping up the pressure at the top.In other games tomorrow, Long Sutton (1st) play Bridgwater (5th), Temple Cloud (3rd) entertain Frome (tenth) and Winscombe (4th) play at home to Trull (9th).If Minehead are successful in being promoted, it will mean they have spent only one season in the Somerset Cricket League following relegation from the West of England League.Meanwhile, Minehead 2nd XI are home to Taunton St Andrews tomorrow and Wiveliscombe play at Chard - both in the third division.Minehead 3rd XI, who play in Division Four of the West Somerset League, are away to Stoke St Mary.In the West Somerset League. first division leaders Kilve are home to eighth-placed Stoke St Mary while second-placed Morebath are away to Bridgetown.Ashbrittle are setting the pace at the top of Division Two but have no game tomorrow. However they will stay top regardless of the weekend results.Second-placed Huish Champflower will be looking to close the gap when they play at home to Fitzhead.In Division Three, top of the the table Watchet are away to fifth-placed Cutcombe with their unbeaten record at stake while second placed Carhampton are home to North Curry.In Division Four, leaders Sampford Arundel are home to local rivals Ashbrittle.
