MINEHEAD hammered Castle Cary 7-0 in their first home game of the season in the first division of the Uhlsport Somerset County Football League yesterday (Sat)

Matt Trump and Guy Burns led the spree with two goals each, with others coming from Ben Bartlett, Alfie Lyons and second half substitute Olly Prescott.

It was a splendid performance by Minehead who face a derby game against Watchet Town on the same ground this coming Saturday.

The game is sure to attract one of the biggest crowds at Minehead for some years.

Watchet, who were without a game yesterday, beat Combe St Nicholas 2-1 away on the opening day of the season.
