MINEHEAD will be looking to bounce back after suffering their first defeat of the season when they play at home to Lympsham & Belvedere in the Premier Division of the Somerset Cricket League today (Sat).

After going top of the table a fortnight ago, Minehead dropped to fourth place last weekend after losing by 109 runs away to Winscombe.

However, they are still only five points behind new leaders Long Sutton.

Winscombe scored 264-8 in 45 overs, while Minehead slumped to 155 all out despite an opening stand of 79 by Greg Howard (22) and skipper Ian Buchanan (49). It means they lost ten wickets in scoring a further 76 runs.

Minehead's opponents today have made a poor start to the season, having lost four matches with the other being cancelled.

In the third division, third-placed Minehead 2nd XI are away to Taunton St Andrews, in seventh spot, while second-placed Wiveliscombe entertain Chard who are lying fourth.
