MINEHEAD moved up to sixth in the first division of the Uhlsport Somerset County Football League after gaining a 3-2 home win over Ashton & Backwell United yesterday.

Minehead lead 2-1 at half time following goals from Jordan Rose and Martyn Phillips who netted during first-half injury time.

The visitors pulled level again early in the second-half but Minehead edged the game - courtesy of teenager Harry Perren’s first goal for the club after 70 minutes in just his second first team appearance.

Meanwhile, Watchet Town are up to third spot after they gained a 3-0 away win over Westfield which completed the season's double over their rivals. Josh Aspey, Brandon Walsh and Billy Jones netted for Watchet who led 2-0 at half time.
