JUMPS racing has resumed and I have returned from a lovely week in Majorca with the family. It was hot over there but so was it hot at home! The staff started early on the hottest days and it is great when the team all pulls together to get all the work done.

We travelled to Perth on Sunday with our first two jumps runners and nearly came home with a winner! Ras Kassar ran another solid race to be second in the most valuable novices handicap chase on the card. He led at a good gallop under Dylan Johnston and was only just caught close to home on the run in.

October Hill moved into contention in her race stylishly before weakening to finish fifth. Rian Corcoran felt it wasn’t necessarily that she didn’t stay over three miles but we might look to drop her back in trip next time.

Mancero is our first runner of this week at Worcester on Wednesday and Sean Bowen is on board our four-year-old once again.

Other entries at Worcester include Harry, Best Night, Ocean Heights, Savanna Storm and Thetypeistitle so it could be a busy day for the team if we decide to run them all there.

Racing at Newton Abbot returns on Saturday and Ocean Heights holds a further entry there along with American Sniper who is entered in the 2m5f handicap hurdle. He is in good form at home and is likely to run providing we are happy with the ground.

Keep checking the Daily News on the website for all the latest news on the stable runners.

Below I continue to run through some more of the horses that are in training at Pond House this season;

Best Night (FR) - A dual winner over hurdles last season in her first season with us since coming from France. Her wins came at Newton Abbot and Huntingdon and she has numerous placed efforts to her name as well.

Bras D’or (FR) - A handsome big gelding he perhaps did not progress quite as well over hurdles last season as we may have hoped. It is too early to write him off just yet; I wouldn’t be surprised to see a different horse this winter.

Captain Boudet (FR) - He is a two-time winner over fences in his career and has just two starts for us when he finished unplaced. He wasn’t really enjoying the quicker ground during the summer so he has had a holiday.

Cinammon Coco (IRE) - A winner once on the flat and once over hurdles in Ireland; he has disappointed so far in his runs on this side of the Irish Sea. We have given him a holiday since his latest start and we know the ability is there, it is just a case of unlocking it on the racecourse.

Chemical Dave - He took a big step forward from his bumper debut effort to be a close fourth at Market Rasen on his only start last season. He shows ability and a good attitude at home and he will be winning races, hopefully a bumper before going over hurdles.

Doors Breaker (FR) - Yet to run for Pond House but was nearing his debut when suffering a tendon injury two seasons ago. He has won one race over hurdles and is a lovely big horse.
