OAKE Manor Golf Club hosted the Terrence Ball Memorial Trophy Competition last weekend. A total of 116 golfers played in the two day event, a Better Ball Pairs Medal competition on Saturday and a Better Ball Pairs Stableford Competition on Sunday; the scores from both competitions were combined to get the winner.

The winners of the Terrance Ball Memorial Trophy on countback with 18 under par for the two rounds were Chris Yates and Mark Popham, in second place also 18 under par were Callum Foster and Olly Rutland while in third place with 17 under par were Brian Thomas and his granddaughter Isla Catto.

The prize for best score on Saturday but not in the overall prizes were first Danny Moore and Keith Cooper with nett 61, second Mathew Durbin and Phillip Coleman with nett 62 with Vic Burgos and Tony Fowler in third place also nett 62.

Similarly for Sunday first were Stuart Coleman and Jamie Tong with 48 points and second were Mark Mitchell and Barry Roberts with 45 points and third were Daniel White and Max Pophamwith 44 points. There were spot prizes on 12 of the holes on both days.

The Seniors played a Stableford Competition from the forward Ladies Red tees on Monday. Steve Cann won division 1 with 37 points closely followed by David Wheeler in second place also with 37 points while John Matravers came third with 36 points. Robert Sanders was the clear winner of division 2 scoring 40 points, the best score of the day, while Andrew Cleland was second with 37 points and Paul Lewis was third with 36 points.

The Ladies braved the heat to play a Stableford Competition on Tuesday, the winner was Pam Akers with 36 points while Jenny Musgrove came second with 32 points and Angela Warnes was third also with 32 points.
