ASHBRITTLE begin the defence of their title in the first division of the West Somerset Cricket League when they play at home to Bridgetown on Saturday, May 3.

Ashbrittle lost only two matches in winning the championship last summer, finishing 86 points ahead of Bagborough who were runners-up.

Bagborough entertain East Huntspill on Saturday while Kilve, who finished third in the table last summer, are also home - to Morebath. In another game in the first division game Winsford play Over Stowey who took fourth spot last year.

Watchet begin life in the top flight after winning the second division championship with an away fixture against Brompton Ralph.

Churchinford, who finished bottom of the first division and failed to win a game last summer, begin their bid for a quick return to the top division with a home game against Roadwater.

Ashbrittle were the most successful club in the league last year with their second team winning the fourth division. Their opening match in the third division is away to Minehead. Hemyock, the only Devon side in the league, are away to Bishops Hull while Cannington entertain Stoodleigh.

Fitzhead, who finished bottom of the third division after a poor 2024 season, begin with a home fixture against Brompton Ralph in Division Four. Over Stowey are home to Stoke St Mary while Buckland St Mary visit Roadwater.
