MINEHEAD Hockey Club Ladies travelled to play bottom of the league Yeovil in the hope of coming away with a much-needed win - and they achieved their aim with a great 5-1 victory, clinching the points with three goals in the second half.

Minehead started off strong, with plenty of high pressure and quick turnovers in midfield. Some neat one-twos between Amy and Molly earned possession high up the pitch leading to Hannah breaking the deadlock by slotting in a cross from Amy for Minehead’s first goal.

Not long after, a pass from Hannah found Zöey, who deflected the ball through the keeper for a second. However, the opposition opened their account, leaving it 2–1 at half-time.

The second half began evenly, but with Becca making key saves, Minehead soon pulled away. A sloppy Yeovil pass was snapped up by Amy, who drove masterfully from the halfway line to score. For the fourth, the visitors worked some tidy triangles before Zöey beat the keeper once again.

Amy added another from a long corner, and although Zöey hit the backboard in the final seconds, the whistle had already gone. The game ended with a much needed 5–1 win and three crucial points to help Minehead move up to seventh in the table.

The Carol Matravers player of the Match was Amy Tisshaw.
