THE ladies championship at Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club was played over 36 holes and held on one day.
The weather was hot, sunny with little breeze. There were 12 participants. The morning saw some very good scores with four players within three shots. The second 18 holes saw Tricia Grinter winning, but only by one shot from Deano Carlin.
Anne Oglesby was winner of the best nett score over the two rounds. Alongside this an 18 hole Stableford competition was played for Ladies not wishing, or not able, to play in the championships.
This was won by Paula Parkin with an impressive 41 points, on countback from Caz Cape, also on 41 points.
The beginning of the week saw the Ladies Section play Oake Manor at home in the Wessex competition. The conditions were windy especially on the back nine which favoured the home side who won all their matches.
