OAKE Manor Golf Club hosted a 4 ball bowmaker competition on Saturday for the Sam Loader Cup with 148 golfers playing in teams of four producing some excellent scores.
The winning team were Kieran Thomas, Logan Thomas, Charlie Wingfield and Gareth Topps with an excellent score of 89 points. In a close second place were Daniel Moore, Nicholas Ford, Darren Cornwall and Vic Burgos with 88 points while James Macey, Philip Coleman, James Dawson and William Chin came third, also with 88 points.
Sam’s parents and sister came fourth with 87 points - Jill Loader, Ian Loader, Kathryn Loader with Thomas Bordier.
The first three players in the Sunday Stableford Competition all scored 36 points but on count back Mark Smith came first, Owen Irish was second and Robin Trott was third.
On Sunday the ladies played a Stableford Competition for the Silver Street Motors Trophy. Gillian Hadley was the clear winner with 37 points, ahead of Catherine Sheppard who was in second with 34 points while Janet Howe came third with 33 points.
In the Wednesday Midweek Stableford Competition Benjamin Slade won division 1, scoring 37 points with Robin Trott second on 36 points and Richard Barker third with 34 points. Mark Smith was the division 2 winner with 37 points with Ashley Gaines in second place with 35 points and Anthony Birtwhistle in third place with 31 points.
In the Wednesday Midweek Stableford Competition the previous week James Macey won division 1 with an excellent score of 44 points, just ahead of Mark Nichols who had 43 points while Neil Blackmore came third with 42 points.
Richard Beesley won division 2, scoring 40 points while the next three players all scored 39 points but on count back Clive Large came second and Theo Harris was third.
