ENMORE Park Golf Club is delighted to welcome Matt Brooke as its General Manager and looks forward to sharing new ideas to continue the excellent work that is already underway.
Matt said: “ I’d like to thank all of the members and the staff for making me feel so welcome at the club. The golf course is in fantastic condition, which is thanks to the brilliant work of the green-keeping staff."
Meanwhile, Susan Hockley and Janet Waplington were the winners of the Ladies’ 18-hole Coronation Foursomes with 43 points, three clear of second-placed Chris Hannam and Tracy Waring, with Julie Ingram and Melanie Millar claiming third place with 39.
Paula Kilpatrick, with 21 points, won the Ladies ' hole Individual Stableford. However, it was a close run thing for the following two places, but after countback, it was Madge Wakefield who was second, just in front of Anne Elliott-Rose after both returned with 18.
Edward Ingram, with 67, was the winner of the Mixed Monthly Medal, including the Brian Cup. However, a countback was required to determine the following two placings, following which Kevin Lewis was second and Russell Peck third, both scoring 68.
Nick Holcombe was the winner of Tuesday's Summer League (week 7) with 23 points, two clear of Tony Brooks, who had 21 points, and a point ahead of third-placed Nicola Toller with 20 points.
On Sunday, Enmore hosted eight members of The Mendip Golf Club for a mixed match with eight pairs per side. The match went down to the last pair, with Enmore being the winner 4.5-3.5.
Last week, the Seniors welcomed their Mendip counterparts. The Enmore performance, however, was rather disappointing, suffering a 5-1 loss.
On Tuesday, Enmore Park Golf Club was delighted to welcome 54 juniors competing in the South West Schools Championship over 36 holes.
