THE annual match between the Lady President’s and the Lady Captain’s teams has taken took place at Enmore Park Golf Club.

A total of 48 participants competed in the two teams, with Lady President Gwen Cavill leading her team against Lorraine Taylor's Lady Captains' team in a match played as a greensomes over 9 holes. The President’s team dressed in turquoise and the Lady Captain’s team in pink, representing the colours of the Club’s Charity, Dementia UK. Despite a challenging weather forecast, all players turned up as scheduled, and the conditions proved generally favourable for most teams throughout the event. At the end of the 2025 match, it was the Lady President's team that won. Lorraine Taylor presented a cup to Gwen Cavill, and all the winners received a chocolate medal, while the runners-up received a chocolate treat.

The Enmore Royals travelled away to Taunton and Pickeridge to play their final match of the season. With all eyes on the weather, there was much discussion as to whether the match should go ahead. However, with just a drizzle in the air, the T&P Captain and Enmore's captain of the day, Colin Galbraith, made an executive decision to go ahead. Everyone set off with optimism, hoping to get around and escape the worst of the weather, but sadly, with just a couple of holes played, everyone soon realised that wasn't going to be the case. Despite this, however, the captains ploughed on and completed the round on the 15th. However, as they walked back to the clubhouse, they soon realised that most of the games had been abandoned long before, so it was agreed that the match was a draw and the weather was the winner. Many thanks go to all Enmore Royals players who braved the weather and supported the club.
