ENMORE Park Golf Club Lady Captain Lorraine Taylor organised an Away Day to Dainton Park GC in South Devon, which turned out to be a very successful event.
The day consisted of 18 holes of good golf, much enjoyed by the 32 lady members who attended, with prizes.
The format for the day was a waltz format, which meant the teams of four needed one to score on hole 1, two on hole 2 and three on hole 3, then repeat to the 18th.
The winners on the day with a fantastic 87 points were Shanni Whisler, Ann Weston, Beth Ratcliffe, and Debbie Perry, narrowly beating second-placed Jo Wyatt, Linda Moore, Wendy Walker, and Sue Hales by one point. The Away Day was deemed to be a great success and enjoyed by all who attended.
Meanwhile Katie Gibbins, with 45 points, was the clear winner of the ladies 18-hole individual Stableford, including the Mavis Tudor Memorial Cup. However, it was a close run thing for second place when two players returned with 39 points, but following a count back, it was Jo Wyatt who was second just in front of Linda Anniss.
Last week Clevedon Seniors visited Enmore last week for a match that was unusually competitive and resulted in 4 halves and a win a piece for an overall result of 3-3.
The winning pair were Les Dewdney and Ben Gliddon. Nearest the pin was Gary Thompson. The match concluded with an excellent meal that all players praised.
Riza Terzi, Ben Powell, Russell Peck and Marc Crisp were the winners of the Professionals' Day at Enmore Park Golf Club with 88, but only after a countback put them ahead of Shanni Whisler, Ali Wyatt, Sara Rendell and Lee Lewis. with the same score.
