PHILLIP Coleman narrowly won the Wednesday Midweek Stableford Competition at Oake Manor Golf Club, scoring 38 points in division 1, beating Jamie Tong into second place, also with 38 points on countback. Andy Avis came third with 37 points.
Sam Prior won division 2 with 36 points while Dave Perry came second with 35 points and Charlie Wingfield was third with 34 points.
Zachary Smith had a runaway win in the Sunday Stableford Competition, scoring an incredible 47 points, eight points clear of Michael Tourle in second place with 39 points and Mitchell Couryer third, also with 39 points.
Suzanne Ward won the Ladies Sunday Stableford Competition with 34 points while Jane Clist came second with 31 points and Daphne Priddy was third with 29 points.
In the latest Wednesday Midweek Stableford Competition Ashley Gaines was the overall winner. winning division 2 with 37 points with Sam Prior second on 35 points and Theo Harris third also on 35 points. Richard Barker won division 1 scoring 36 points while Mark Nichols came second. also with 36 points, and Jack Jones was third with 35 points.
Meanwhile, Oake Manor Golf club Captains held their “Drive In” on Saturday April 18. ,Club Captain Jon Ball, Ladies Captain Mary Beakes, Seniors Captain Nick Mitchell and Junior Captain Max Snow drove off to start their year in front of an enthusiastic crowd of club members.
Some 178 golfers took part in the 2 Ball Texas Scramble Competition with 2 shot gun starts, one at 8.30 and the second at 1.30.
In a very close finish William Parker and Robert Packman were the winners with a score of nett 61. There will be a full report next week when all results have been finalised.
