THE weather at Oake Manor Golf Club last weekend was very wet and horrible to play golf.
The Saturday and Sunday Stableford competitions were still run but with vastly reduced numbers. In the Saturday Stableford, the first three players all scored 34 points but on countback Anthony Date came first, James Dawson was second while Chris Hume was third.
In the Sunday Stableford, Taylor Slade came first with 37 points, Nick Putt was second with 34 points and Andrew Gent third with 33 points.
On Monday the Seniors held a 3 Bowmaker Team Competiton. The clear winners with 74 points were Trevor Cook, Michael Speed and Alan Ashby. In second place were Mark Lecompte, David Matthews and Andy Stevenson with 70 points while in third place were Dave Kinnear, Leslie Hamp and David Wheeler with 59 points.
Meanwhile, Mark Lecompte had a hole in one on the 10th hole while playing a social round of golf on Thursday of last week.
Oake Manor have held thier end of season Breakast Pairs Texas Scramble. The day started with more than 100 golfers having a full Oake Manor English breakfast.
The winners were Phillip Coleman and Jamie Short with a superb score of nett 61. Ian Loader and Barry Short came second with nett 63 while Ian Blackwell and Jason Brock were third, also with net 63.
In the recent Sunday Stableford, Ian Nott was the winner with 35 points while Tim Dyke came second with 33 points and James McAuley was third with 32 points.
Ian Hockey won the Seniors Order of Merit Stableford on Monday, scoring 39 points in division 2, Robert Davies was second with 35 points, while Robert Sanders came third with 34 points. Colin Brown won division 1 with 37 points, Michael Bright came second with 34 points and John Wall was third with 33 points.
