WATCHET Town’s away match against Worle in the first division of the Uhlsport Somerset County Football League tomorrow (Sat) is expected to go ahead despite concerns over the state of the pitch.
“We understand Worle have been working on it all week,” said Watchet boss Nick Sully today (Fri). “We’ve no reason to think it will not go ahead.”
Worle were forced to postpone their home game against Minehead last weekend because the pitch was ‘bone hard and had cracks.’
Watchet go into the game having played only one match this season, going down 4-1 at Clutton a fortnight ago. In their only fixture, Worle won 2-1 at home to Glastonbury.
Meanwhile Minehead play their third successive home game when they face Wrington Redhill - also tomorrow (3p.m.).
Minehead have taken four points from their two home matches while Wrington lost their only game - 3-1 at Glastonbury.
Ashcott top the table with seven points, but second-placed Paulton Rovers Sports are only one point behind them, having played just two matches.
Fixtures: Glastonbury v Isle of Wedmore, Imperial v Ashcott, Minehead v Wrington Redhill, Paulton Rovers Sports v Nailsea United Reserves, Peasedown Miners Welfare v Winscombe, Westfield v Burnham United, Worle v Watchet Town.
