MINEHEAD Association Football Club is proud to welcome the community to a landmark event — the first match of the season for the Minehead Women’s team, which is taking place on Sunday, 7th September vs Crewkerne Rangers Ladies, at Minehead AFC.

The clubhouse opens at 1pm, with a festive build-up including music, snacks, face painting, and glitter tattoos in club colours. Kick-off is at 2pm, but the celebration starts well before then.

This match is more than just the start of a season — it’s a celebration of the club’s growing girls and women's development pathway. With many of the women’s team having come through the youth ranks, it’s a proud moment for Minehead AFC. To make the season even more special, the club is also taking the opportunity to call on player family, friends and the wider community for matchday volunteers to help create an unforgettable experience for the rest of the season's home games. Roles include: Supporting the tea hut and bar; Preparing and serving food for players post-match; Setting up and cleaning down the clubhouse and changing rooms; Pitch preparation and clear-up; And generally lending a hand wherever needed

Members of the Management Committee and club volunteers will be available on the day to discuss how family, friends and members of the community can get involved throughout the season. Whether you can help once or regularly, your support is vital.

Chairman Jason Hill said: “This is a proud moment for our club and a celebration of how far our girls youth section has come. We invite all families, friends, and supporters to join us from 1pm to cheer on the team and be part of something special.”

Join Minehead AFC this Sunday and help the club kick off the season with pride, passion, and community spirit.
