PORLOCK Reserves put in a commanding performance to secure an impressive 4-0 home victory over Norton Fitzwarren in Division Two of the Taunton Saturday League.

The hosts controlled the first half and dominated possession and territory from the outset. Despite this chances were limited, and the game settled into a steady rhythm.

The breakthrough finally came thanks to sheer determination from Mark Daniels. Pressing aggressively high up the pitch, he forced an error from the Norton back line, won the ball in a dangerous area, and surged forward to give Porlock a deserved 1–0 lead going into half time.

The second half was a very different story as Porlock came out with renewed intensity and purpose. Joshua Baynham proved to be the creative spark, causing constant problems for the opposition defence. His influence paid off when he delivered a perfectly weighted through ball to Finley Priddle, who made no mistake in calmly slotting home to double the lead.

Soon after, Porlock struck again this time from a set piece. A well-delivered corner found Darren Flurry, who reacted quickest in the box to bury his chance and extend the advantage.

Despite their dominance, Porlock could have added even more, creating numerous chances but lacking that final touch in front of goal. However, the fourth goal was worth the wait.

Robbie Whitehead produced a moment of real quality, gliding past two defenders with skill and confidence before coolly picking out the bottom left corner with a superb finish capping off an excellent team performance.

This was a comprehensive display, Porlock dominating the second half just as they had controlled the first, only this time with the goals to match their superiority. Man of the Match: Jordon Simpson

With just two games remaining, Porlock now look ahead to their next fixture, where they face Staplegrove Colts away on Saturday, April 11.
