MINEHEAD Reserves, who play in the first division of the Taunton Saturday Football League, are through to the next round of the Somerset Intermediate Cup after a thrilling 8-4 home win over Bridgwater Wolves Colts.

Minehead found themselves trailing 3-2 at half time but hit the Colts with a six-goal blitz in the second half.

Scott Kivell, Haiden Griffiths and Sam Heath all scored twice for the seasiders, with the other goals coming from Josh Heath and Riley Pope.

The Minehead squad included four sets of brothers - Myles Campbell-Farmer, Jack Campbell-Farmer, Tomasz Kubaczski, Bart Kubaczski, Josh Heath, Sam Heath, Rob Vickers and Dan Vickers.

Minehead will be joined in the next round by Alcombe Rovers who also had to come from behind in their cup tie to beat Burnham United A 5-2 at home.

Meanwhile, Minehead will next be back in action on Monday, December 1, when they play Galmington in the the Saturday League’s Rowbarton Charity Cup on the 4G pitch at the Bridgwater and Taunton College.

Galmington play in the Premier Division of the Taunton Saturday League and are lying third in the table, having lost only two of their seven matches.

Alcombe have a first division match this coming weekend, November 29, when they play away to former league champions Bridgwater Sports who are lying third in the table. Rovers are fifth and trail Sports by four points but have a match in hand.
