MINEHEAD AFC welcome Westfield to the Recreation Ground tomorrow (Sat, 3p.m.), following an exciting local derby at midday where Minehead Reserves face Alcombe Rovers in Division 1 of the Taunton District Satursday League

Minehead currently sit ninth in Division One of the Uhlsport Somerset County League with 11 points from ten games, while Westfield trail in 12th with eight points from nine.

A win for Minehead would create a six-point gap from their visitors and push the team further up the table. Westfield arrive with four points from their last five games, compared to Minehead’s eight, giving the home side a strong opportunity to secure all three points.

With the Minehead club still searching for a replacement for outgoing manager Craig Carr, interim leadership falls to Lee Hardick and Michael Neal supported by Matt Cracknell.

Deputy chairman Matt Cracknell said:"It’s important we bring in a team—two or three people—who can move us forward. We’re continuing discussions next week and hope to finalise a decision by Saturday, November 8. We’re taking a thorough approach to ensure we get it right."

Minehead have seven fixtures before the New Year, five of which are at home. Next week they travel to Glastonbury before returning to host Clutton on 15th November, where a new management team is expected to be in place.

Chairman Jason Hill added:"We invite everyone to the Recreation Ground this Saturday for a fantastic double header showcasing local football talent. The midday derby between Minehead Reserves and Alcombe Rovers promises to be a great match, with just one point separating the sides.

“The first team then take on Westfield at 3pm, and we’re grateful to Lee and Michael for stepping up during this transitional period. Please come and support."
