MINEHEAD and Watchet FCs, known for brilliant derby days in both clubs’ long histories, will for the first time ever go head to head in the women’s game this Sunday.
This landmark occasion highlights how far the women’s game has come in the West Somerset area with so much good work happening at both clubs in recent years, particularly at youth level.
Both will field players who have played in the Somerset Girls’ Leagues, shining a light on successful pathways and the exciting future ahead for both clubs.
Both play in Division Three (South) of the Somerset Women’s League. Watchet are in their second season of senior football while Minehead joined their West Somerset counterparts at the start of the season.
The game kicks off at Minehead FC this Sunday, 26th October, with a 2pm KO. Both teams welcome your support on this landmark occasion between the clubs to celebrate the continued growth of the female game in West Somerset.
