MINEHEAD will be in action in the Uhlsport Somerset County Football League tomorrow (Sat) but Watchet Town, struggling for players, will be taking advantage of a ‘new clause’ which allows them to postpone three matches without severe penalties.
Minehead play away in Division One to Ashcott who are unbeaten this season, having won twice and drawn their other game.
Minehead, however, will be out to avoid a hat-trick of losses, having suffered two successive defeats.
Watchet will not begin playing again in the Premier Division until Saturday, September 13, by which time they hope to have sorted out their problems.
They had ‘more than a complete side’ unavailable for a match against Wells City Reserves last weekend which they eventually called off.
It meant they will be fined and will be deducted three points but they will not have any action taken against them for postponing two more games.
