MINEHEAD AFC have announced that manager Craig Carr has left the club by mutual consent.

In a statement, the club says: “We thank Craig for his efforts during his time at the club and wish him well for the future.”

Chairman Jason Hill said:"We appreciate Craig’s contribution during his time with Minehead AFC and thank him for his efforts. As a club, we’re committed to moving forward together and continuing to build a strong, positive environment for our players, staff, and supporters.

“In the short term, the team will be led by senior members of the coaching staff for Saturday’s crucial home fixture against Ashcott. The club will immediately begin the process of appointing an interim manager to guide the squad through the upcoming period up to Christmas.

“Minehead AFC currently sit seventh in the table with 11 points. Across all competitions, the team has played 11 games, winning three, losing six, and drawing the last two. Encouragingly, there has been only one defeat in the last five matches, but the club acknowledges that results need to improve.”

The chairman added:“We know there’s work to do, but the opportunities are clear. With six of our next eight games at home, we have a great chance to build momentum.”There doesn’t come more of a challenge than Saturday’s opponents, Ashcott, who arrive in excellent form, sitting joint top of the table with Portishead Town Reserves on 18 points.

“Minehead AFC extends a warm welcome to Ashcott and anticipates a competitive match at the Recreation Ground. Minehead AFC would like to thank its volunteers, sponsors, and supporters for their continued backing during this period of transition. Their support is vital as the club looks to achieve its goals on and off the pitch.”
