MINEHEAD AFC is proud to share the exciting progress being made behind the scenes as part of its commitment to creating a thriving, inclusive, and community-driven football club.
As Minehead move through the 2025/26 season, the newly expanded management committee held their quarterly meeting last week. They continue to work tirelessly to deliver on the club’s mission: providing a fun, safe, and challenging football environment for all ages, while strengthening the One Club ethos.
A new grounds team has been formed, led by James Guscott, with investment in equipment and pitch improvements already underway.
Strategic discussions with Minehead Town Council and the Somerset FA are progressing around the development of Irnham Road.
A pitch secretary has been appointed Andy Rose to coordinate and allocate playing surfaces across multiple venues.
Minehead has welcomed over 270 youth players and 100 senior players across all age groups.
The club has launched a team secretary role for each age group to improve communication, coordination, and support for coaches and families.
The women’s team has made a fantastic start to the season, sitting second in the league, with all players having come through the club’s youth pathway, with the team who beat Taunton Town not having any player older than 18 years old.
The club has published a Coaches Handbook and held multiple coaching gatherings to align expectations and support development.
Plans are in place to expand girls’ football and introduce a disability team.
The club are looking at moving the partnership with Exeter RTC forward to help enhance player pathways and coaching standards.
A packed calendar of events is planned, including Halloween quizzes, Christmas bingo, silent discos, and community race nights.
A Presentation Bonanza is booked for 2026, celebrating achievements across all teams.
The club is actively engaging with local organisations, businesses, and other local football clubs to strengthen community ties.
