MINEHEAD Cycling Club members supported the Big Breakfast at the Moorland Hall, Wheddon Cross, on Sunday.

Starting from the usual Sunday morning meetup in Minehead they made their way up the hill to the Forest School fundraiser. Afterwards, well fuelled, they continued in the sunshine around a loop that included Exford and Winsford.

Club member Nathan Bale said:“Fantastic morning, beautiful weather and great company. Loved every second. Now that’s what club rides should be all about”

Elsewhere club members were in action at Round 7 of the South West Cyclocross at Exeter. David Bray (V60 9th), unusually, was off the pace, starting well but fading.

He said: “It was a hard race, I was first off the line and led for most of the first lap but lost the wheel and fell on a corner, I’ll go better next time!”.

Louise Crossman (V60 1ST) won by a mere 4 seconds, pushed to the limit to hold off her challengers.
