ALTHOUGH they still have one more match to play, Wiveliscombe 2nd XI have won the title in the fourth division of the West Somerset Cricket League.
They moved above Buckland St Mary & Bishopswood, who had already completed their fixtures, after they beat Spaxton by nine wickets to collect a maxmum 35 points. Spaxton were bowled out for 101 with W Heynes taking 6-16, and Wivey comfortably knocked off the runs with J Warren 50 not out and P Stutt-Hannaford scoring 41.
In the third division, Cannington missed a chance of going top after losing by 16 runs to Cutcombe. However Cannington can still pip Hemyock for the championship if they win their last match of the season - against Carhampton on Saturday, September 13.
Hemyock have completed their fixtures and currently have a 17 points lead over Cannington, with Cutcombe a further 28 runs behind. Cutcombe end their season with an away match against Ashbrittle.
