THE West Somerset Cricket League is nearing the end of a season which has enjoyed some of the best weather for cricket for a long time.

In the first division on Saturday, August 29, Bridgetown will be looking to pull off a double over Bagborough, having beaten their rivals by eight wickets with a convincing home display back in late June.

Bagborough opted to bat first and hit 237 all out with Jed Glanvill scoring 61, Tom Eve 56 and Henry Stirzaker 44 while Lennon Howe snapped up 5-45. Ben Luxton steered Bridgetown to victory with an unbeaten 102, with 17 fours and two sixes, while Dan Sizer was 86 not out.

Morebath and Over Stowey play each other for the first time this season with the return scheduled for Stowey on the last day of the season.

In Division Two, Roadwater will be looking to avenge a four-wicket home defeat by Lydeard St Lawrence in June when Mark Hannaford hit 112 not out.
