MINEHEAD Cricket Club Under 11 and 15 teams ended their seasons in the Taunton and District Youth Cricket League with mixed results.

The MCC Under 11s completed their season with a hard fought match at Brompton Ralph on Sunday morning that ended in a victory for the visitors.

Batting first the home team made 266 for four in reply to which, Minehead just managed to scrape home with 268 for eight - a great match with some great cricket played by both teams. Player of the match for Minehead was Beau who batted well including hitting a six!

The MCC Under 15s rounded off their season disappointingly when their final opponents North Curry were unable to raise a team and conceded the match.

This left Minehead in third place in the league table after being in contention for a large part of the season. The junior season will conclude with a presentation evening at the Club.

Following on from the club hosting Somerset Over 50s men the previous Sunday, last Friday Minehead hosted two further county matches, the Somerset Girls Under 13 and 15s both against Devon, both of which the home team won.

On both occasions Minehead CC were congratulated on the pitches that were prepared and the warmth of the welcome that was afforded to them, which is a credit to the club.

Meanwhile, five young cricketers, who have grown up through the age groups, made their last appearance for the Minehead Under 15s in the final TDYCL match of the season.

In 2026 Reiss, Harry, Cam, Lennon and Sam will all be stepping up to play in the Minehead senior teams.

Minehead CC Juniors held their End of Season Presentation Night earlier this week.
