THE recent half term saw the Somerset Pathway teams in action during which there were some impressive performances, writes Richard Walsh.

The Under 18 Girls played two T20 games against Hampshire in the ECB Vitality Blast competition at Taunton Vale.

In the first match after choosing to bat Somerset posted 205 for 4 the feature of which was Katie Rowe’s innings of 104 off 60 balls with 17 fours and two 6s, and 34 from Molly Thornburn.

Hampshire in reply reached 161 for 8, Jessica Slade taking 2 for 27 and Lilliy Blackwell 2 for 30.

Somerset posted 180 for 5 in the second game after opting to bat of which Charlotte Webber made 73 off 43 deliveries with 14 fours and Emily Dummett scored an unbeaten 40, the pair adding 66 for the third wicket. Hampshire reached 181 for 3 in 17.5 overs in reply.

The Boys Under 18s travelled to Bromsgrove School to play two matches in the ECB T20 competition.

In the first against Northamptonshire after choosing to bat Somerset scored 234 for 8, Theo Lamey making 87 off 45 balls with 10 fours and four 6s and Oscar Coleman 50 off 18 balls with seven 4s and 3 sixes, the pair adding 78 for the second wicket. Zach Vukusic then hit 47 and added 93 for the seventh wicket with Theo Lamey.

When Northants replied they reached 176 for 7 Zach Vukusic taking 3 for 39 and Jago Barclay 2 for 21.

In the second game Worcestershire batted and posted 182 for 6, Ben Sleeman taking 2 for 32, in reply to which Somerset reached 187 for 7 off 19.5 overs, Theo Lamey making 46 and Oscar Coleman 42 the pair adding 57 for the third wicket.

The Under 18 Boys also played two T20 games in the ECB competition against Gloucestershire, who after choosing to bat in the first reached 169 for 8, Zach Vukusic taking 2 for 37. In reply Somerset reached 170 for 6 off 17 overs, openers Theo Lamey 53 off 36 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes, and Zach Vukusic 56 off 20 deliveries with 6 fours and four 6s sharing a first wicket partnership of 105.

In the second game Somerset batted and scored 201 for 7 Theo Lamey making 42, while Max Davis with 34 and Jack Blackwell 35 shared an unbroken eighth wicket partnership of 49.

Gloucestershire replied with 165 for 6, Harvey Richards ending with the impressive figures of 2 for 16.

Somerset Boys Under 14s played Cornwall in the ECB County Cup a 45 over competition.

After Somerset won the toss and chose to bat first they amassed an impressive 344 for 8 from their overs.

The innings got off to a good with the opening pair sharing a partnership of 122 of which g start Harry Bird, made 43, and Leon Dunne wiho hit 63 off 61 balls with 7 fours.

George Timbrell-Whittle who came to the crease with the total on 168 for 3 then dominated the second part of the innings scoring 112 off 65 balls with 14 fours and two 6s adding 147 for the fifth wicket with Lewis Walters who hit 46.

Cornwall in reply were all out for 203 in 37.3 overs, James Coverdale claiming 4 for 26 from his 7.3 overs.
