WELLINGTON and Minehead both have away fixtures in their opening games of the new cricket season on Saturday, May 3.
Wellington play away to North Perrott in the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League, having been relegated from the Bristol/Somerset Division at the end of last summer. They won only four of their 18 matches in the Bristol/Somerset Division, having been promoted the previous year when they enjoyed a record-breaking season, finishing top of the table with an unbeaten record. They finished 24 points behind Taunton Deane who won only five games and were also relegated.
Minehead found themselves also relegated at the end of the summer, having finished bottom of the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier League. They managed only one victory in their 18 games and were 46 points adrift of the next placed side North Petherton who also went down. The seasiders will be looking for a bright start when they play away to Taunton Deane.
Wiveliscombe’s opening game in Division Three is at home to South Petherton.
