MINEHEAD Running Club’s Charlie Stonier took part in the Exeter Half Marathon on Sunday and came away with a personal best of 1.50.00 on a course that was slightly shortened due to a crime scene on the route.
That was balanced by having to stop on several occasions to allow the police to get through!
Charlie was 90th out of 218 runners.
Sunday also saw the season’s second Somerset Series event, the Humdinger Half, a half marathon on country roads on the outskirts of Taunton.
Matthew Bowden was 20th out of 179 finishers in 1.33.18 after overtaking around ten runners in a fast last five miles.
Nic Pettit was 67th in 1.46.48 as his London Marathon training moves on apace.
