MINEHEAD gained a thrilling 2-1 home victory over Ashton & Backwell United Reserves in the first division of the Uhsport Somerset County Football League yesterday (Sat).

Minehead's scorers were Andy Hall and Guy Burns who snapped up the winner a few minutes from the end.

However neighbours Watchet Town crashed to a 6-0 home defeat against promotion-chasing Wells City Reserves in the premier division.

It leaves Watchet third from bottom and still in danger of being relegated.
