WILLITON Bowling Club hosted Victoria Park, Bridgwater, in a friendly on Sunday, losing by three shots overall.

The previous day Williton travelled to Winscombe for their first Somerset County League match. The rink of Clive Penner, Andy Fish, Rich Waterman and Phil Ash took a commanding lead, but soon found them selves behind, but managed to fight back and win their rink by two shots.

Nigel Waterman, Alan Blackmore, Mick Grogan and Derek Sully had a tight game all the way through, but unfortunately lost by oneshot. Ian Hayes, Stan Martin, Dave Middleton and Callum Harrod stormed into the lead and controlled the game winning by 13 shots. Williton won 61-47 and 10-2 on points. This Saturday,  Williton will travel to Taunton Deane for their next league game.

Elaine Amery and Callum Harrod have progressed to the next round of the national mixed pairs, winning 21-12.

Sunday, 6th, in the afternoon, Williton recorded a big win over Porlock in the Exmoor Trophy League, only losing one rink from six.

Monday evening saw Derek Sully and Callum Harrod crash out in the first round of the men's county pairs by just one shot.
